AmeriPlex at Elm Hill, Holladay Properties’ 36-acre development in Nashville, TN, was recently named the Industrial Development of the Year by the Nashville Chapter of NAIOP, the commercial real estate development association. The award was one of several presented to various real estate organizations at the 2012 NAIOP Awards Gala on Feb. 23.

“We would like to thank the entire development team including Holladay Construction Group, Ronnie Wenzler of Cassidy Turley, Q10 Vista Commercial Mortage Group, Summit Constructors, Sandhu Consultants, Ameritas Life Insurance Co. and Civil Site Design Group.” said Tom Gibson, senior vice president and partner of Holladay Properties. “We know the development of these buildings would have been impossible without the collective efforts of these companies and their employees and we appreciate all that they have done to make the development a success.”

Located on one of the last remaining large industrial sites in Nashville’s Industrial Central Business District, AmeriPlex at Elm Hill will be home to over 250,000 square feet of LEED certified office warehouse space when complete. The 89,000 square foot Building A was the first multi-tenant industrial building in Tennessee to obtain LEED certification and Building B is currently under consideration for LEED certification.

Additionally, AmeriPlex at Elm Hill is one of 12 projects being considered by the Urban Land Institute – Nashville Chapter for the Excellence in Development Award, which will be announced at the awards gala on May 3rd. The Excellence in Development Award has been given since 2009 to land developments which exhibit exemplary design, sustainability and commitment to improving the community.

“Practicing sustainable design and responsible building techniques is an important part of our company philosophy and the right approach for our community. Our LEED design decisions were based upon return on investment analysis,” Gibson said. “Our tenants benefit from these investment decisions in the form of lower occupancy costs and a healthier working environment offered at AmeriPlex.”

AmeriPlex at Elm Hill is currently home to an impressive list of tenants, including National Recovery Technologies, Classic Party Rental, DHL, Lennox Hearth Products and, most recently, Epiphone Guitar Company. The first two phases of the development, totaling over 225,000 square feet, have taken an extensive group effort to complete, which has resulted in the positive recognition AmeriPlex at Elm Hill has received to date.
