Did you know Phillip Knight, Building Maintenance Engineer (Jackson, MS), is a remote control airplane enthusiast? His interest began in 1999 (20 years ago) when his older brother was a RC Pilot; his brother taught him how to fly.

Phillip owns two competition planes and two sport flying planes. He participates in flying competitions and judging the five classes including basic, sportsman, intermediate, advance, and unlimited flying contests. He competes in the advance class and has won first place in regional seniors 2015 and 2017, and he won the regionals in 2013. He has been in the top three in the last three years.

Through this hobby, Phillip has gained new friends and has enjoyed travelling to contests in the region. He helps build his own planes, and he is a member of the International Miniature Aerobatic Club, Inc. (IMAC) and a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautical (AMA).
