After months of planning and a even some controversy, Holladay Properties can proudly announce that Fast Park & Relax has placed 30 acres of land under contract at AmeriPlex-Indianapolis.
Construction of the new 3,700 spot covered parking facility will begin next month. The project will feature energy efficient components including solar panels, a geothermal mechanical system, skylights and solar reflectivity building envelope products, products that increase solar reflectivity and decrease the amount of heat absorbed. Solar reflectivity building envelope products, like metal roofs and natural stone, result in lower consumption of energy, decreased utility costs, improved environmental footprints and less creation of pollutants from energy production.
The facility will also recycle rainwater for use on the landscaping and utilize energy efficient shuttles that run on alternative fuels. Officials for Fast Park and Relax said they would employ 45 full-time staffers initially, including a general manager, two assistant general managers, dispatchers, shuttle drivers, cashiers, maintenance personnel and a mechanic. That number would grow, company officials said, in about seven years as its business matures and the lot is expanded on the site.
