(Michigan City, Ind.) — Holladay Properties is holding a groundbreaking ceremony for the Haskell Building, a 64,000 square foot multi-tenant speculative light industrial building in Michigan City on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 4 PM.
“This is a game changer for Michigan City,” said Mike Micka, VP of Development for Holladay Properties. “Currently, there are only three other properties available for lease in Michigan City. All of these buildings are over 40 years old and do not represent the type of flexible space we will be offering in the new building.”
The Haskell Building represents one of the newest industrial investments into Michigan City and will feature City provided utilities, separate entries, drive-in doors and docks doors for every tenant, and 10-year tax abatement. This building is a high quality pre-cast concrete panel construction with interior steel columns for roof and structural stability and offers 24′ clear height.
The Haskell Building is part of Holladay Properties’ newest business park, AmeriPlex-Marquette, a +/- 20-acre development located at Cleveland Avenue and US Highway 20. The first development in the park, the Michigan City Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram car dealership, is now open for business.
AmeriPlex-Marquette will offer up to 228,000 square feet of flexible space to serve office, warehousing and light manufacturing requirements. The site features ample area amenities including easy access to restaurants, retail space, hotels, and convention centers.
The Haskell Building at AmeriPlex-Marquette features quality flex industrial space at a great location, with easy access to US Highway 20, US Highway 421, and Interstate 94. The building can accommodate up to eight individual tenants and is divisible to 8,000 square feet.
“Holladay has already met with a few existing companies that are looking to relocate into a new facility in Michigan City,” Micka said. “Additionally, the Michigan City Economic Development Company is currently working with several active projects totaling over 250,000 square feet of users.”
Holladay Properties is the owner and developer of the Haskell Building. Curran Architecture is the building’s architect and Holladay Construction Group, LLC will be the General Contractor for the project.
