Inn at Saint Mary’s undergoes transformation to reinvent the guest experience
Holladay Properties’ first hotel development was the Inn at Saint Mary’s Hotel & Suites in South Bend, Indiana. The hotel opened in 1992 and was one of the first hotels on the north side of South Bend. Over the years, the hotel has gone through a few renovations (especially the lobby area), but the largest remodel ever is going on right now! The hotel “reinvention” includes exterior updates, lobby, meeting room, and fitness center upgrades, renovations of over half the rooms, and a new, modernized logo to boot.
The Inn at Saint Mary’s premier location on the Saint Mary’s College campus at I-80/90, Exit 77 from the Indiana Toll Road, hasn’t changed but we are transforming our Inn-er beauty! The Inn’s boutique style upgrades will assure a unique and memorable experience for all guests. The locally famous Inn is considered the finest independent hotel in the area-known for being first class for business, university or commercial travelers, as well as for the weekend, family, or social guests.
Beginning December 2015, we began remodeling 65 guest rooms to include modernized bathrooms, an honor bar featuring local food and beverage favorites and a refrigerator/mini bar for our guests’ convenience.
Each room and suite will offer a modern mix of elements with a variety of textures along with a tonal color palette featuring vibrant accents creating a user-friendly environment with contemporary comforts.
Handcrafted espresso beverages will be available in our new coffee shop Innjoy, proudly serving Starbucks. It is scheduled to open in the lobby by the end of February. Innjoy features Starbucks coffee and Tazo Tea brewed daily or your favorite latte and cappuccino, made to order. Also look for contemporary upgrades in our lobby, fitness center, and the LeMans meeting room.
But before the renovations could even begin the furniture being replaced had to be removed. We organized a schedule for the associates to have first chance to take advantage of the items begin given away. Then Habitat for Humanity’s Restore program came in next and removed the remaining items. This included sofa beds, chairs, lamps, office chairs, and miscellaneous bathroom amenities and fixtures. We were elated to hear that the Habitat for Humanity was able to raise over $20,000 by selling these items at the Restore site.
Be sure to watch for an invitation this spring for an exclusive invite to join the celebration and unveiling of the new Inn at Saint Mary’s – designed to delight guests with a one-of-a-kind South Bend experience.
