BowTruss Building recognized with ULI award

(Nashville, TN) - The Urban Land Institute's (ULI) Nashville District Council recognized 10 projects in the Nashville-area with Excellence in Development Awards on Wednesday night. The ceremony was attended by about 475 ULI members and guests at the Omni Nashville Hotel.

Held annually since 2008, the awards recognize excellence in land use, design, construction and economics plus collaboration among development team members. Twenty-eight public, private and nonprofit projects were submitted in five categories and the Holladay Properties’ led BowTruss Building redevelopment project took home one of two awards in the Private Sector - Small Project category.

“We are honored to have earned this award from ULI Nashville,” said Allen Arender, Partner and Sr. Vice President of Development for Holladay Properties who managed the BowTruss Building project. “Redevelopment projects like this are exciting to be a part of. To see the building come to life with new tenants and a new energy is very rewarding,”

This is the second ULI Excellence in Development Award Holladay Properties has earned on a redevelopment project in Nashville. The Sawtooth Building was one of eight projects honored in 2011. The Sawtooth Building, a 100 year old factory renovated in 2011 for Griffin Technologies, was Holladay’s first redevelopment project led by the Nashville office.

One of the few office buildings that have opened in the Germantown area since its renaissance decades ago, The BowTruss Building is a former warehouse that has been converted into creative office space. Features like open architecture, exposed metal bowtruss beams, a vaulted wooden ceiling and spacious windows and skylights take the space from ordinary to extraordinary.
