(South Bend, IN) – On Thursday, May 26, Holladay Properties and Holladay Construction Group’s South Bend offices hosted an event to celebrate the beginning of construction on the 165,000 square foot Ontario Building. As the sun soared over the impressive steel structure, guests enjoyed light hors d’oeuvres, remarks from Holladay Properties’ President & CEO, John Phair, and a tour of the build site. All who attended were encouraged to sign a beam that was on display, thereby leaving a permanent mark on the structure.
Construction of the 165,000 square foot building began in April of this year by Holladay Construction Group, LLC and will be completed by the end of the year. The Ontario Building is the newest multi-tenant flex/industrial facility located at AmeriPlex at Interstate 80/90 in South Bend.
“We are pleased and excited to be hosting this event and drawing attention to our successful AmeriPlex project,” said Holladay Properties Senior Vice President and Partner, Paul Phair. “This new facility is coming at a time of accelerated growth and progress at the park, following the expansion last year of Hubbel/RACO and the construction of new facilities for Chase Plastics and FedEx.”
AmeriPlex at Interstate 80/90 is a 200-acre mixed use development project on the City’s northwest side near the South Bend Regional Airport, approximately one mile from the intersection of Interstate 80/90 and US Highway 31. The business park, which broke ground in 2006, will contain over 1 Million square feet of space by the end of 2016. The new facility is designed for use by distribution and manufacturing users and is partially pre-leased to a national tenant.
The Ontario Building features a pre-engineered building structure that exceeds the requirements of the new Indiana Energy Code, as well as T-5 fluorescent lighting, municipal water and sewer, an ESFR fire protection system and T-1 fiber optic telecommunications.
