Welcome to another edition of “The Favorites” series, in which we explore our employees’ favorite projects. These projects include the buildings and developments that they have enjoyed working on most during their time at Holladay, whether in a development, leadership, property management, or support role.
In Part IV of the series, we hear from two Holladay employees, Mike Micka and Drew Mitchell, from our Portage office. Enjoy!
The Clark Building — Portage, Indiana
“My favorite project would have to be the Clark Building in AmeriPlex at the Port. The 100,805 square foot flex/industrial building had just broken ground when I started working for Holladay and it was my first project. Not only is the building really cool to look at, but it was fully leased within the first year and, though tenants have come and gone, it has remained occupied since it was completed in 2008.”

Darby Row — South Bend, Indiana
“Darby Row, Holladay’s 35-bed student residential complex in South Bend. The project featured fully furnished units with large, open floor plans and state-of-the-art connectivity for students. It was the first full development project I managed from start to finish, and as such will always be a special project to me. It was also the first project in a series of successful, high quality student and multifamily residential projects, and therefore was a bit of a ‘pivot’ project for both me and, in some respects, Holladay Properties as we continue to evolve with the marketplace.”
