Holladay Properties is making progress on the development plan for 32-acres of land at Haglund Road and IN-149 in Burns Harbor, IN. Holladay entered into a Master Development Agreement with the Town of Burns Harbor Redevelopment Commission (RDC) in May 2019, to be led by the team at Holladay’s Portage, IN office.
As Master Developer, Holladay Properties is responsible for: due diligence, master planning, community relations, development schedule, implementation, land use and development approvals, finance (infrastructure and development costs), construction and management. Holladay created a detailed work plan identifying by month — action items, responsible parties and the municipal council / board or commission that the item(s) will be presented to and whether or not a formal action/vote is required.
Since May 2019, Holladay has also been working closely with the Town and the RDC on a concept plan for the site. In November, 2019, Holladay’s initial concept plan was presented to the RDC’s TIF Board and Holladay was granted approval to move forward and submit the plan to the Plan Commission in February 2020.
In January 2020, Holladay received approval for the schematic design of a municipal building in the development, which would be the first construction project. In February 2020, Holladay presented a concept plan for the Westport development to the Burns Harbor Plan Commission. If the plan is approved, Holladay will apply for a PUD in April.
